In order to obtain the Minnesota Hunter Education Certificate, Students years of age must pass both the online and field day portions of the Firearm Safety Hunter Education Course. Taking hunter education training online saves you time and allows you to complete the course when it is convenient for you.

Hunter Safety Certificate (Hunter Education) All first-time hunters born on or after Jan. 1, are required to take and pass a hunter safety course. You will not be able to purchase a base license (other than an apprentice license) unless you can prove successful completion of a hunter safety course. Hunter Education courses are designed to teach hunting safety, principles of conservation, and sportsmanship. A dedicated cadre of over trained volunteer instructors works with Conservation Police Officers to train over students each year, in addition to students who choose the online course.

For adults: Adults ages 18 and over can take hunter education online and receive their hunter education certification. Field day is not required. Select an online course below. At the completion of the course the customer will receive a temporary certificate with a valid Hunter Education certificate number. A permanent card will be mailed out. The online-only course is restricted to persons who are 17 years of age and older. Online-only courses are designed for Texas residents.
